Support Ticket System for free Purchase Order Software

We are upgrading some of our servers, so the free Support Ticket System will be offline for part of the day today.

If you need any help with the free version of SpendMap, just send an e-mail to free-support@spendmap.com and a new support ticket will be created for you automatically.

Thanks for your patience as we improve our infrastructure and prepare for additional growth in 2013.

Free Purchase Order Software – Status Update

Our Blog will be a little more quiet than usual for the next few weeks as we work on the 2013 release of SpendMap, which we hope to officially announce early in the Next Year.

While some of the new features will only be available in the (paid) web-based version of SpendMap (e.g. Executive Dashboards, SQL Server 2012 support, etc.), we expect around 20 or so new features to make their way into the next free version of SpendMap.  Here are just a few…

  • Support for Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012
  • Ability to create Requisitions for Blanket Purchase Orders
  • New utility to import requisition approval/routing rules during system setup
  • Ability to broadcast e-mails to all or some suppliers from within SpendMap
  • New e-mail notification:  e-mail copy of final Purchase Order to the Requisitioner
  • Ability to specify Max inventory levels by inventory location

Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the release date.

And if you haven’t yet subscribed to this blog, just use the field at the top-left of this page to get updates by e-mail when we have news for you about the free Purchase Order Software System.

Skype support for free Purchase Order Software

Our Support Group is now supporting Skype for our worldwide users.

So if you buy a Service Plan, per-incident support or other professional services, you can now call us free of charge from anywhere in the world.

Seems like a nice complement to the free Purchase Order Software.

As always, you can still get totally free support with the free support ticket system.

We’ll provide you with our Skype contact details when you place your order for services.

Have a great day!

A few new features in your free Purchase Order Software

A few of the new features that you asked for in last week’s survey were already added to SpendMap earlier this year and will be available in the next release of your free Purchase Order Software.

  • Ability to delete all existing requisition approval/routing rules in one step (start over)
  • Ability to broadcast e-mails to all or some suppliers from within SpendMap
  • Requisition for Blanket Purchase Order
  • New e-mail notification: Email copy of final Purchase Order to the Requisitioner

Thanks to all who took the survey.  When creating our development schedule, we take valuable input from the users of the free version of SpendMap, and combine it with new feature requests from our paying customers (who are using the web-based version of SpendMap), so both communities benefit from your input.

If you haven’t yet taken the survey, please take a moment now and join the conversation.

Thanks and have a good day.

6 months of free Purchase Order Software

I can’t believe that it’s been six months since we introduced the world’s first free e-procurement system.  It’s like watching my kids grow up…goes by so quickly.

People in over 100 countries have downloaded our free Purchase Order Software and we’re only getting started.

And while we’re happy that many users of the free software chose to upgrade to the paid version of SpendMap for one reason or another, we’re even more thrilled about how many smaller companies have implemented the totally free version.

It feels really good to help so many people who could never have afforded this type of technology before.

So What’s Next?

We were actually hoping that you can tell us!

We have a few ideas of our own for how to improve the project, like some cool new software features or maybe some new tools to help bring the members of the Free-Procurement community closer together (yes, that’s you!), but we thought we’d start by asking what you would like to see added.  Or changed.

After all, this is your Project, as much as it is ours.

So could we ask a small favor in return for your free Purchase Order Software system?  Could you take a couple minutes and answer this short survey

I know, I know, we all have a bazillion things to do but it won’t take long and this type of feedback is really important to keep things moving in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for taking the survey, and also for downloading the free Purchase Order Software in the first place.

Have a great day!

Q1 Results: Free Purchase Order software is spreading around the world

The long weekend here in Toronto was a great chance to reflect on our accomplishments and make plans for even better things to come.

For those of you that are following the Free-Procurement Project, I thought you might be interested to see our progress for the first three months…

For comparison, here’s what it looked like two months ago.

Free Webinars for your free Purchase Order Software?

May we have your feedback on something?

We’re considering replacing (or augmenting) our free one-on-one setup/training sessions with group webinars.  We’re thinking that a group setting might allow you to learn from other people who are using the free version of SpendMap, in addition to the advice that our internal staff can provide.

Please take this 30 second survey to let us know which direction to go.

Thanks!

New SpendMap Website – update your free Purchase Order Software

Our new corporate website www.spendmap.com came online yesterday.

Many hyperlinks in your free version of SpendMap will now be broken.  You can wait for the next automatic update (could be up to 7 days) or you can select  HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATES  from the Main Menu to update your system immediately.

In addition to a fresh design and updated content, the new website now incorporates The Free-Procurement Project into our core SpendMap brand.

You can read the press release here.

Thanks for your patience as we make this transition.

I’d like to make a special shout-out to the team at i4 Solutions who I think did a great job on the site and were wonderful to work with during the whole process.  This is the second project we’ve done with i4 and I’d recommend them for website design and web-based application development.

I’d also like to thank Jeremy Miller at Sticky Branding for his advice at the outset of the project (the Free project, not the new website).  While we didn’t formally engage Jeremy on this project, we appreciate his generous advice and encouragement as we set out to learn about social media marketing and organizing large groups of people.  Thanks Jeremy!

Free setup assistance for your free Purchase Order Software

We’ve had a few requests to help new users of the free Purchase Order Software with the setup (configuration) of the system.

Sure, we’re happy to help.

SpendMap includes an easy-to-use Setup Wizard and detailed online help, but if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to read it, we would be happy to walk you through it.  Just send us a note at free-procurement@spendmap.com and we’ll set up a short meeting.  It should only take 15 or 20 minutes to get you set up and processing Purchase Orders.

We may not be able to provide this free service forever but we’ll try as long as we can until the user community gets too big.  Mind you, by then we’ll likely have a user forum in place, so you’ll be able to help each other at that point.

Hope to hear from you soon…

30 Day Results: The world loves free Purchase Order software

The results are in for the first month.  People all over the world are downloading our free Purchase Order Software.

We’re getting some great questions from the early adopters who are already implementing the system and we’re getting ready to announce even more free stuff to help you say “Goodbye” to those paper Purchase Orders and frustrating manual Purchasing processes, once and for all.

So please keep the feedback coming and make sure to sign up for this Blog to stay in the loop.
